The Rotary Club of Wellington Central has always been
involved in specific projects with the aim of assisting the community in a
variety of ways. Since about 1993, we have raised considerable funds,
first from the Children's Film Festival and latterly
from Circus Quirkus.
The last Circus Quirkus performance that the club was involved in
was in 2014 in May with a
total attendance of nearly two thousand.
The children, accompanied by parents or care givers
made up a most appreciative audience at the two performances at
Wellington High School. The funds raised from these events allowed
children who would otherwise not have the chance, to enjoy a
really great show free of charge.
The Club also benefited by receiving a considerable amount of
money which we used for projects in the community.
We can assure you the money we raised has been put to very good use. Using criteria which were carefully developed, we made grants to projects which were aimed at helping children and young people.
